Womb of the Earth (Canvas)

$34.95
The earth as Dante imagined it. The northern hemisphere comprises a giant landmass made of the three continents known in medieval Italy (Africa, Europe, and Asia). Jerusalem sits at the center of the landmass, with Gibraltar at the western limit and the River Ganges at the eastern limit. The southern hemisphere is entirely covered by water, except for the mountain of Purgatory, directly antipodal to Jerusalem. Dante's Hell is a great cavity under the northern landmass in the shape of a cone, with its tip at the center of the earth and its axis connecting Jerusalem and Purgatory.

• Acid-free, PH-neutral, poly-cotton base
• 20.5 mil (0.5 mm) thick poly-cotton blend canvas
• Canvas fabric weight: 13.9 oz/yd2(470 g/m²)
• Fade-resistant
• Hand-stretched over solid wood stretcher bars
• Matte finish coating
• 1.5″ (3.81 cm) deep
• Mounting brackets included
• Blank product in the EU sourced from Latvia
• Blank product in the US sourced from the US
